Camp Coaching Positions
Camp Coach
Pay starting at $16.60/hr (pay determined based on our payscale)
Part Time (5-15hrs/wk) and Full Time (15+hrs/wk) available
Requirements:
- Artistic Swimming background in coaching or swimming
- Turning 15 by December 2026 (parental permission required for anyone under 16 at the start of camps)
*Not required but assets - AquaGo course complete, First Aid & CPR, Lifeguarding Certification, experience in coaching or assistant coaching AquaGo
Responsibilities:
- Engaging with swimmers at all times
- Keeping swimmers in view at all times
- Being in the water with athletes
- Helping with activities (can include leading activities, playing games with swimmers, helping swimmers during crafts, or helping the leader of an activity in any way they need)
- Being responsible for their own group in water or follow directions of the coach in charge of a group you are helping
- At times being the lead of groups on land
- Keeping any spaces being used clean and tidy
Camp Coordinator
$0.25/hr extra on base pay. Minimum 20hrs/week
Requirements:
- Able to work at least 20hrs/week with flexibility in scheduling
- Minimum experience of 1 summer of coaching camps
- AquaGo course complete
*Not required but assets - First Aid & CPR, Lifeguarding Certification
Responsibilities:
- All items listed under Camp Coach (including being in water)
- Planning assigned activities
- Planning assigned crafts
- Planning assigned games
- Speaking with parents on an issues, injuries, etc. In general being available and open to speak with parents/guardians as needed
- Supervising other coaches
- Leading and helping other coaches as needed
- Printing colouring pages, doing prep work, etc. as needed
- Weekly pizza order; keeping track of money brought in and slices requested per swimmer, ordering pizza, paying for pizza from money collected
- Supporting the Team Lead(s) in any way they need
Camp Team Lead
$0.50/hr extra on base pay. Minimum 25hrs/week
Requirements:
- Able to work at least 25hrs/week with flexibility in scheduling
- Minimum experience of 1 summer of coaching camps
- AquaGo course complete
*Not required but assets - First Aid & CPR, Lifeguarding Certification, Introduction to Competition course complete.
Responsibilities:
- All items listed under Camp Coach and Camp Coordinator (including being in water)
- Lesson planning for in water
- Call ins for if anyone is sick/readjusting staffing on day of if needed
- Creating swimmer groups based on age, experience, and number of coaches available
- Adapting plans and coming up with games and activities quickly when needed
- Main liaison(s) with pool staff
- Monitor & manage email account
- Send out emails as required
- Main contact for coaches for anything that comes up or any issues
- Monitor supplies and let Alicia know if anything is needed
Flex Coach
Pay starting at $16.60/hr (pay determined based on our payscale)
4-20 hrs/week only as needed
Role:
Coaches in this position must be experienced coaches with 2+ years experience. They will not be guaranteed any weekly hours, but may be asked to work certain days/times to help with covering shifts, and will be on the call in list if someone is sick. This role is for those who want to help out over the summer but cannot commit to coaching fully and are okay with getting minimum hours.
Non-Coach Camp Positions:
Weekend Admin:
Pay starting at $16.60/hr (pay determined based on our payscale)
2-4 hours/week
- Print off all sheets for the next week (sign in/out, contact lists, pizza forms, etc)
- Clean office from week prior
- Check, clean, reorganize lockers
- Check and reply to emails
